A lovely old bear – what a woeful expression – he definitely needs cheering up! Ernie is 22 inches tall, fully jointed and largely kapok stuffed with woodwool to his head – he has a non-working squeaker. He retains a lot of mohair to his back area, some to his main body but he has lost a lot from his face which has darkened with age – he looks like a proper old ted. His pads have all been covered nicely and he has a fabulous face and expression – he comes as pictured – and is a lovely strong, old bear looking for a home xxxx

Please be aware I am a lover of the tattier old teds with oodles of character so bear this mind before buying – no bear will be perfect – far from it – but I guarantee they are all perfectly adorable. I try to list every bear accurately – if there is anything I forget I can only apologise – I try to put plenty of photos up so please take a good look as these form part of the description. I happily post overseas but anything over 40 in value HAS to be tracked hence overseas postage may seem a lot – if postage is less than quoted I will happily refund the difference. Vintage teddy bear 1950s BUSH BABY Merrythought

I bought this teddy from an antiques toy fair and was informed by the dealer that he is a “bush baby” teddy bear.

The seller had contacted Merrythought as she could not find anything like him on the Internet. Merrythought informed him that they only made a few various types of these in the early 1950s and he is now a hard to find merrythought toy. He does retain his merrythought label. Original features sitting position kapok filled . Overall good condition never seen another and in nice condition.

PRIMITIVE FOLK ART CERAMIC BEARS,RUSTIC,COUNTRY,SHABBY CHIC.

These primitive teddys are made of some sort of ceramic.They are both vintage but unsure who made them.They are both a good size and so realistic that they look like fabric. They are jointed just like real teddy bears and the joints are strung with string.Very unusual never seen them anywhere before.They look like old antique bears.Thanks for looking.
