I think that this very sweet old teddy bear is likely to be by Deans, probably dating to the 1930’s.
I have undertaken some research and am fairly confident that she is Deans, possibly an early Merrythought.
Interestingly, I think when she was bought by her previous owner, teddy was described as a “Farnell”, which she is not.
The lady buyer only collected British bears, specifically Farnell teddies, and by the time her small collection came to me, all, with the exception of this old girl, are Farnell.
Anyway, that’s her story. I leave it to potential buyers and collectors to decide if I am right.

I am including the charming antique smock style nightgown that teddy is wearing because it suits her :)
For additional reference, she is wood-wool and kapok filled, has linen/cloth paw pads; I think the glass eyes are original, and the nose stitching looks very like Deans, at least to me.
