This is Charlie – an antique teddy bear dating from around 1900-1920. I am no teddy bear expert but I was told he is a BING make of bear from Germany. He has a slightly humped back, he has moveable tapered arms and there is a central seam down the front of the body and down the front of the legs. There is no makers marks.
Charlie has a cute face with a long nose which is sewn in black thread. Both arms and both legs can be moved and the head also swivels around on what feels like a metal plate.
He is filled with straw.
There are a number of repairs and faults please read the condition report above. A lot of the mohair fabric is worn and rubbed away in places from years of being loved.
He stands 16 inches tall.
A well loved teddy bear – I hope someone can repair and restore him. The bear will be packed carefully in a box to ensure he arrives in as described condition. I maybe able to get a better postage price for customers in Europe please message me for an exact price.
