Rare example of a pull a long dog made by Chiltern Toys during the 1940s/1950s (label on underside of dog) on red metal frame.
As you pull dog along, lever from back legs goes underneath dog’s body up through his chest which in turn open and closes mouth of dog – mechanism needs some work and dog currently leans to his left.
Made from blond coloured mohair with brown tail and ears, brown/black glass eyes and black stitched nose with longer downward facing stitches.
Measures approx. 9″ from floor to top of head and 10″ in length from tip of nose to tail.
Stuffed with wood wool throughout. Lovely dog – never seen one with opening mouth before.
