I believe this to be a Schuco (or similar) Perfume Teddy Bear-possibly dating to pre WWI.He measures approximately 4.75 inches high and has black glass eyes and a hand stitched nose & mouth. The Teddy weighs around 50 grams, and has a metal body which is covered in faded golden mohair. He has a wonderful long, pointed snout and is truly adorable, but sadly lacking his glass perfume phial. This has instead been replaced by a piece of dowling which allows his head to sit perfectly on his body.Teddy is in overall good vintage condition, with signs of wear commensurate with age and use. This basically consists of mohair fur loss due to an abundance of loving, wear to his stitched nose and some of his metal body being visible-to the right toes particularly.A fabulously rare example which will make a great addition to any collection of Perfume Bears.Any questions, please ask prior to bidding. Please study the photos as they form part of the description.
