This lovely bear is a Gwentoys bear, dating from between 1965-72. He’s in fabulous condition, almost like new! He has all of his golden coloured mohair and his velvet paw pads are perfect. He has embroidered claws on each paw. His eyes are flat plastic safety eyes. His embroidered nose has some slight damage but it doesn’t detract from him. He has some red embroidery thread on his chest, perhaps from his original label? He has a partial label under his right arm which rather tantalizingly says ‘made in England by…’. However he’s clearly a Gwentoys bear and a nearly identical bear can be seen on page 124 of Pauline Cockrill’s book ‘The Teddy Bear Encyclopedia’. I’m rehoming him as I have limited space and need to rehome some bears. Good homes only need apply!
